ALL STAR DANCE
Flip and Shout Competitions will offer All Star Dance divisions and scoring based on the USASF Divisions, Rules and Scoring Guidelines. For more information visit this link: 2024 State Spirit Challenge All Star Dance Guidelines
The scoring for this event will utilize the same values as the CHSAA Cheer and Dance Scoring system with the exception of the deduction values. All deductions will have a more standardized value from across the industry. All category scores will match those of the CHSAA System for both Cheer and Dance. Sample score sheets will be available soon.
All competing athletes must be listed on your entry. By submitting an entry, you agree that you have read, understood and accepted all competition rules, guidelines and terms.
The closing dates for competition entries are as specified on the Events pages of our website. Fully completed entry and full payment must be received by the specific closing date for the discounted Early Bird or the On Time rate to be applied. Failure to comply may result in a higher rate being applied or your entry refused. Please be aware that late entries only be accepted if approved by the event Director.
The contract of sale for entries is between the School, Club/Program and Flip & Shout Competitions. We will not accept individual payments from athletes/parents.
We reserve the right to close a competition early once capacity is reached with the venue.
A crossover is an athlete competing on multiple teams within the same program. Crossovers must compete in a different division, i.e the same athlete cannot compete against themself.
We aim to give a minimum of 20 minutes between performance times but this cannot be guaranteed. Please bear this in mind when allowing crossovers within your teams.
We also recommend that coaches are mindful of the total number of routines an athlete is performing in for health and safety reasons.
Free substitutions are allowed provided:
* The substitution is a direct replacement and making this change does not mean the team is required to change division.
* The new athlete is already a member of your program and has submitted a waiver.
Any other changes will require approval from the event director.
Cancellation policy:
* 100% refund if cancelled prior to the Early Bird closing date.
* 50% refund if cancelled prior to the On Time closing date.
* No refund if cancelled after the On Time closing date.
The schedule order will be determined by random selection.
A performance schedule will be released after the on time closing date has passed. After this date, the schedule is considered “live” and further changes may be made.
We recommend you keep checking the online schedule regularly to ensure you are aware of any changes which affect your teams.
Please do not print out the schedule as changes can be made at any time.
Reasons for disqualification may include, but are not limited to:
* Teams that have athletes performing that are not on the registered roster.
* Teams showing unsportsmanlike behavior.
* Parents/Fans demonstrating unsportsmanlike behavior.
* Teams or programs demonstrating unsportsmanlike behavior towards another program or athlete.
* Threatening behavior towards event officials or participants.
Flip and Shout Competitions reserve the right to remove any individual, team, or program from an event without refund due to inappropriate behaviour as deemed by the event director or venue.
If your routine is interrupted because of a failure of the competition equipment you will be permitted to restart your routine from the beginning. In the event your routine is interrupted because of a failure of your equipment, supplies or personnel, you may either continue or withdraw from the competition.
The only individuals that may stop a routine for injury are:
* Competition Officials
* Coach from the team performing
* Injured Individual
* Safety/Head Judge
An injured athlete may create a potential safety hazard because of the inability to hold, support, spot or catch. For the safety of all athletes competing, a routine may be interrupted if:
* An athlete is clearly injured.
* An athlete is questionably injured and does not resume their role in the routine within 5 seconds of questionable injury.
* An athlete leaves the competition floor due to an injury.
An Injured Athlete may not return to the competition floor unless the competition officials receive clearance from all the representatives listed below:
* Event Medical Team attending to that participant
* Coach of the competing team/programme
* In the event of a suspected head injury, the athlete cannot return to perform without clearance from a licensed medical professional that has training related to head injuries.
If a team is allowed to perform again following a routine interruption, the new performance time will be at the sole discretion of the Competition Official. The team must (pending the injuries impact on the routine) perform the routine again in its entirety, but judging will resume from the point at which the injury/interruption occurred as determined by the judges. All skills must be performed full out from the beginning of the routine. All point deductions accumulated to that point (if any) would carry over.
If a team is permitted to perform again but fails to perform the routine in its entirety (example: throwing back tucks instead of the full twist thrown in the original performance), it is at the discretion of the Competition Official how that team’s scores will be affected.
Fans, parents, and spectators are allowed admission to support all athletes and programs. Behavior of fans, parents, and spectators is expected to be of the highest quality throughout the entire event. Use of profanities is grounds for removal from the event. All fans, parents, spectators must wear the appropriate admission wristband at all times. Refusal to do so is grounds for removal without a refund.

All orders will be available for collection at the venue on the event day. Please keep your order number safe as you will need this at the point of collection.
All sales are final, no refunds will be possible.
Please treat wristbands like cash, if a wristband is lot of stolen it cannot be replaced.
